Christian Education at the First Baptist Church of Rochester is charged with providing spiritual formation opportunities for all members and friends. We strive to meet the needs of all by providing a variety of programs throughout the year led by clergy, lay leaders, teachers, professionals, community leaders or authors. Whatever your educational interests, we strive to use Christian principles in each of our classes. This provides a safe and secure enironment that allows for questions, seeking of answers, and a further exploration of one’s faith, as well as a further understanding of one’s relationship with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and others. As a church we are committed to life-long learning, and we know that no matter the experience, age, or time, one always has more to learn and ways to grow to become Christ-like.
Our educational opportunities happen many times throughout a week or program year. On Sundays we have our Second Hour programming (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) which follows after our coffee hour each Sunday. In Sunday Forum we have speakers or discussions concerning current mission endeavors, health issues, or biblical studies. Wednesday evenings we offer a variety of Bible and book studies. Our nurses group provides us with educational opportunities from CPR and defibrillator training to the latest health-related issues presented in the newsletter or through community seminars. Our children and youth are provided age-appropriate instruction in Scripture, prayer, and music on both Sundays and Wednesdays. There are other opportunities for learning and growing through seminars, training and workshops open to the community. Take a look at some of the many opportunities we can offer you. |
