An American Baptist Church

"For the love of Christ urges us on..."
2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Missions

The First Baptist Church of Rochester Missions contributes internationally throughout the world, as well as the United States, through our contributions to the America Baptist Churches, USA. However, we are not simply a pocketbook church.

We believe charity begins at home and in our Rochester community. Faith has such difficult problems manifesting itself amidst violence, sub-standard housing, and the impact of poverty on children and families, as well as the lack of healthcare for those underinsured or unaccepted. We utilize many volunteers within the community and our congregation and we turn our attention to those agencies that address these problems and issues: (See the list in the left-hand column next to this article.)

We recognize that we are all members of God’s family…our kinship doesn’t end at a town line or city line.

  • Brandon… just killed from Freedom School
  • We are concentrating on the Beachwood area of the city of Rochester which has been burdened with all these problems for decades.
  • We’ve donated furniture to the Freedom School library and helped start a community garden.
  • We are active with Cameron Community Ministries by providing food, clothing, and being part of their meals program.

If you would like to volunteer or contribute to our mission program, contact the church office at 244-2468.
