We accept the risk of creating a transforming community that brings good news to the poor, proclaims release to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, sets oppressed people free, and proclaims the year of the Lord's favor. (Luke 4:18-19, NSRV)
In response to the Nehemiah Vision Team’s request for lay “ministry managers” in several arenas of church life, a Shut-In Visitation Ministry has been formed. Several individuals have volunteered to take part in this ministry of caring for persons in our congregation who find it difficult to get out and to attend activities of church life. Know that in no way is this an attempt to replace or reduce our Pastor’s ongoing visitation of our shut-in members and friends. Rather it is to increase lay involvement in the watchcare ministry of our church family; and, as we continue to grow, to assure the effectiveness of our Pastor’s pastoral care efforts. If you are or know of person in our extended church family who as a shut-in might appreciate a friendly call, please contact the church office at 244-2468 or email us, fbcroffice@frontiernet.net
Please remember this does not stop or replace any member of the congregation from calling on shut-in friends, hospital and post hospital visits and people in need of care.
