The First Baptist Church of Rochester life is centered around worship. Each Sunday and on several special occasions throughout the year, we gather together in the sanctuary, chapel, or our fellowship hall for a time of reflection, praise, adoration, prayer, singing, study, and giving. We would be honored to share with you our deep love for God, our commitment to bringing others to Jesus Christ, and our faith in the power of the Holy Spirit.
In 1955 the Austin Organ Company installed its Opus 2223 (1633 pipes, 27 ranks, 3 manuals, 4 divisions) in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Rochester, a gift of the Strasenburgh family. J. Elmore Jones was church organist at the time. Over the years some work has been done to maintain the quality of the instrument. Thanks to a gift from the family as well as funds from the David and Millie Lewis endowment, the combination action was replaced with a solid state multiple memory combination action, and two factory tonal finishers revoiced and tuned the flute pipework of the Great division, Choir division and some of the Pedal division. The refurbishing of the organ still blesses us today.
Music holds a very special place in the heart of worship at the First Baptist Church of Rochester and you will be blessed to experience the variety and quality of music assembled to assist in the praise and worship of God.
